Ease of Contracting:

HJ Foundation was contacted by Brasfield & Gorrie / Lemoine Company, A Joint Venture, after having disputes on contract wording with another subcontractor, prior to mobilization . We were able to reach agreement on price and contract in less than 2-days and had equipment on site in Lafayette, Louisiana in less than 1 week. We successfully installed 6 load test piles and performed all testing in less than 2 weeks from mobilization.

 

Schedule Savings:

HJ Foundation committed to an aggressive 6-week production schedule, running 2 rigs simultaneously, to install 872 piles. Drawing changes resulted in the requirement to install 1,016 piles (16% additional piles). We are proud to have successfully completed all production pile installation in just 16 days – 3 weeks ahead of our committed schedule.

 

Quality:

HJ Foundation used state-of-the-art survey grade equipment to ensure our piles were installed within specified tolerances. We are extremely proud of our results on this project with more than 96 percent of piles installed within specified tolerances - well above industry standards. The high quality of our as-built locations resulted in zero remedial work required on our piles. Piles installed within tolerances also sped up the engineer of record's review time, thus allowing the shell contractor to form and pour their caps without unnecessary delays.

 

Services Provided:

• 1,000+ augered piles

• 18-inch diameter (66-ton & 87-ton compression piles)

Scope of Work:

• Pile load testing on (6) piles

• Production pile installation

• All grout

• Furnish & install pile rebar

• Stockpile and remove from the site all spoils for disposal

• Perform pile layout & as-built survey (by Registered Surveyor)

• Shooting all grades and verification of all horizontal layout (Internal to HJ Foundation)
