Deep foundations are structural components that transfer loads through weak soils to underlying competent soils. Whether at an open site or inside of a building already in place, HJ Foundation can provide deep foundation solutions.

Common Uses

  • Support new or existing structures
  • Support compressive, tensile, or lateral loads
  • Support static and seismic loads

Typically, deep foundations are bound to any structure, installed before construction or as underpinning elements for existing buildings. They can be driven elements made up of timber, steel, or concrete. They may also be constructed within the ground via drilling a cased or open hole and packing it with reinforced concrete. The load can then be relocated to the bearing stratum through end bearing and/or side friction. Grouting techniques are sometimes utilized to build or increase the load transfer element.

HJ Foundation’s experience with a full range of deep foundation techniques allows us to provide the most cost-effective and technically suitable resolution.
