Auger cast piles or continuous flight auger piles (CFA) are cast-in-place and use a hollow stem auger with continuous flights. HJ Foundation provides this service throughout the state of Florida.

Common Uses

  • Provide structural support
  • For sites with limited headroom and low-access conditions

Technical Details

The auger is drilled into the soil and/or rock to design depth before slowly removed with the drilled soil/rock as concrete or grout is pumped through the hollow stem. The grout pressure and volume must be carefully observed to establish a continuous pile without flaws or deficiencies. Reinforcing steel is then lowered into the wet column. The finished foundation element combats compressive, uplift, and lateral loads.

A project with limited headroom typically requires augered piling installation in sections. HJ Foundation’s specialized equipment enables us to install piling under these extremely challenging conditions.
